Every year, industry professionals and hopefuls gather to experience what the future holds for iGaming and online casinos.

Annual iGaming events, expos, and exhibits are held to bring together those in the know. Whether they’re investors, online gambling providers, or simply those looking to learn more about the industry, these events are highly anticipated.

With the onset of the novel Coronavirus, many industries had to pivot their offerings or hit pause altogether. Many of the events planned for 2020 had to be postponed, adjusted or cancelled.

Postponed: iGB Live! in Amsterdam

In order to keep visitors safe and abide by travelling laws put in place due to the possible spread of Covid-19, iGB Live decided to postpone their event.

Originally set to take place from the 22nd to the 25th of September 2020, the event has been moved to the 13th of July 2021. While many in the industry look forward to this event every year, it’s a tough decision that must be made in these unprecedented times.

The group event director, Naomi Barton, commented on the decision to postpone, saying:

“As disappointing as this news is, we feel it is the most responsible decision to take. We really wanted to deliver this event for our partners and stakeholders.

However, with measures that are beyond our control, we feel a postponement is the right thing to do, as we cannot guarantee that delegates, exhibitors and sponsors will be able to get to the event safely. If we can’t deliver the value and return on investment that is experienced at our events, we will wait until that is possible.”

The new event is set to take place at the same time as the launch of the online casino market in the Netherlands, making this postponement a possible stroke of good luck.

Spring iGaming Week returns to Malta in 2021

Malta is the heart of the iGaming industry with many operators based on the island. After a dry year of no iGaming events or gatherings, an invitation-only week of iGaming expos is set to kick off in March 2021!

Coordinated by SBC Events, KPMG Malta and GamingMalta, Spring iGaming Week is poised to be an exciting array of the industry’s best together once more.

Russell Mifsud, Director and Gaming Lead for KPMG Malta, commented on the collaboration:

“The eSummit is an invitation-only conference, reserved for executives and thought leaders. We bring together some of the brightest minds in the industry to discuss, deliberate and anticipate the industry’s challenges, while also exploring the sustainable opportunities, in the comfort of one’s peers.”

The KPMG Malta Gaming eSummit and CasinoBeats Summit 2021 will be the main attractions during SIW2021 where more than 2000 professionals and thought leaders will gather.

More iGaming events to keep your eye on

As Covid-19 spread rapidly in 2020 and the world went into a state of lockdown, event coordinators had to make tough decisions on how to proceed. Those who didn’t cancel their events outright may have taken other measures to ensure that the world remained connected on all things iGaming.

Update: After being postponed from February to April 2021, and from the 29th of June 2021 and the 1st of July 2021, ICE London is now officially postponed for 2022.

The same goes for iGB Affiliate London show that will occur on the 1st and the 2nd of July 2021

The events will still be held in ExCeL London, however, the plan is to also broadcast them digitally. For the first time, people all around the world will be able to be part of the conferences live and experience a new digital touch to gaming events.

No travel, all virtual

If you’re still not ready to make any travel plans just yet, you can catch the following events taking place via virtual exhibits.

Available from the 27th to the 28th of October 2020, G2E has taken their event to new heights with a virtual experience that you can enjoy from your home office. Keynotes, education sessions, and pre-planned meetings can all be experienced with ease.

ICE Africa has also gone digital and will be running from the 27th to the 29th of October 2020. This digital conference plans to educate, provide new insight, and open up the continent of Africa to new business.
