Each year, Responsible Gambling Week aims to provide a safer gambling environment for players around the world. This year, RG Week has received a makeover and is now known as Safer Gambling Week !
Running from the 19th to the 25th of September 2020 , Safer Gambling Week will create conversations and drive awareness about playing responsibly.
As always, Safer Gambling Week will focus on their motto: ‘Let’s Talk About Safer Gambling’ – An encouraging word to casinos, industry leaders, and players on being open to discussing the dangers of gambling and how they can be overcome.
What Safer Gambling Week offers
During SG Week, special materials including posters and banners will be available for all to use for free. The Safer Gambling teams will also be more visible than ever before, giving people a chance to reach out should they need help.
“Safer Gambling Week is a fantastic initiative which the BGC are proud to play a leading role in. This awareness campaign is now in its fourth year and it has achieved a significant increase in the engagement at all levels on the tools and support available to customers ”, commented BGC chief executive, Michael Dugher.
“We achieved over 25 million impressions on social media in 2019, setting a new benchmark for the campaign, which demonstrates the breadth and reach of the campaign .”
There are also Safer Gambling events taking place throughout the week. Look out for special events at land-based casinos, online campaigns, social media outreaches, important website pop-ups as well as workshops and training sessions.
Being a Responsible Gambler
The UK Gambling Commission works tirelessly to ensure that those who have access to online gambling will enjoy it as responsibly as possible.
This is why they created the Safer Gambling Week initiative and they’ve received support from the entire UK and Irish gambling industry – including amusement arcades, bingo clubs, bookmakers, and casinos.
One of the most important factors to be a safe and responsible gambler is choosing a licensed online casino. The UKGC encourages this and by reading thorough casino reviews, you can find the best UK online casinos available to enjoy!
The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), Bingo Association (BA) and the British Amusement Catering Trade Association (bacta) all support the Safer Gambling initiative and plan to do their part in spreading the resources available.
Bacta CEO John White added: “Safer Gambling Week allows bacta members to highlight their year-long commitment to safer gambling, the safer gambling tools available to customers and the quality of staff that engage with our customers on a daily basis .”
