SiGMA, which stands for the Summit of iGaming Malta, is an annual event that has grown from strength to strength over the last few years. Dating back to 2016, this expo sees thousands of managers, executives and affiliates flying in from all over the world to engage around each sector that makes up the iGaming landscape.

The conference not only includes a world-class exhibition floor, but also a Start-Up Village where new businesses, like online casino operators, can learn about tools available that will enhance and strengthen their offering.

This conference also presents opportunities for delegates to attend conferences, workshops and talks where subjects like AI, blockchain, IoT, Quantum Tech and other emerging technologies will be highlighted.

Fun Focus

SiGMA does everything possible to ensure that delegates also have fun with networking opportunities like football matches, sunset cruises and poker tournaments created as ways to foster business relationships between online casino regulators and others in previous years.

Since the start of this conference, a clear cross-pollination between gaming and emerging tech sectors became evident and the harnessing of investment and development opportunities were encouraged for the further advancement of the gaming sector.

Who attends SiGMA?

This conference was created for role players in the online gaming industry like:

  • Representatives of Digital Games
  • Gaming industry vendors & suppliers
  • Gambling license regulators
  • Affiliate marketers and managers
  • Sports betting representatives
  • Regulators and related government entities
  • Remote Gaming and land-based operators
  • B2B software providers
  • Digital marketing agency representatives
  • Legal, financial and consultancy firms
  • Recruitment agencies

Given that the conference attracts the attention of many international businesses, professionals from various language and cultural groups create opportunities for network growth.

The conference itself brings together over 40 affiliate programs, more than 60 speakers and in excess of 100 exhibition stands for the benefit of its 3,000 strong audiences, which includes casino game operators and responsible gambling organizations.

The success of the European SiGMA has given rise to SiGMA Americas and SiGMA Asia that are both expected to feature on the conference calendar in 2021.

SiGMA Europe Postponed

Due to the unforeseen novel Coronavirus pandemic, SiGMA had to postpone the 2020 conference that was due to take place in November, to early February 2021 at the recommendation of Malta’s health authorities.

SiGMA Group Founder, Eman Pulis expressed his regret in saying:

“SiGMA 2020 was due to take place this Nov, the show was sold out and we were extremely excited for this edition to take place. However, COVID-19 had other plans and therefore we have decided to postpone the show for another 3 months. I must send my gratitude to all the exhibitors who agreed to move their participation at SiGMA with us. I look forward to the new dates and I look forward to welcoming you all with arms wide open."

The conference in February will be SiGMA’s 7th edition at the Malta Fairs and Convention Center where sponsors, delegates, speakers or exhibitors are still able to make applications to participate.

For those who are still in two minds about attending, here are three reasons, according to the SiGMA website, to sway your decision:

EMERGING TRENDS

We always believed that SiGMA must embrace all three verticals – Affiliates, Operators and Suppliers. Today’s super affiliate, for instance, is fast becoming an operator, thanks to lower barriers to entry.

EMERGING HUBS

SiGMA is held in two iGaming hubs – Malta, the gaming hub in Europe and Manila, the undisputed hub in Asia. Thanks to MGA in Malta and PAGCOR in the Philippines, a robust regulatory framework has enabled hundreds of gaming companies to establish offices and operate legally in both jurisdictions.

EMERGING TECH

We’re merging two large expos – SiGMA and AIBC – under one roof, pushing boundaries for the two verticals to learn and feed off each other. Expect keynote speakers and innovations in Blockchain, AI, Big Data, Quantum Computing, IoT and FinTech to enlighten us about the future.

This postponement places SiGMA in the position of hosting the first iGaming conference in 2021 and lines up well with the inaugural events taking place for Asia (May 2021) and the Americas (September 2021).
