Play’n GO expands into the exclusive Swiss casino market

The last year or two have been very exciting for the iGaming industry in Switzerland, with big names in the industry breaking into the exclusive club that is the Swiss market.

As the market continues to change and evolve with new regulations, more and more online operators are opening their doors to popular software providers.

Play’n GO has joined the ranks of NetEnt, Novomatic, and Evolution Gaming as the newest provider to release their games onto the market.

Play’n GO heads to Switzerland

The top-rated software provider Play'n GO has boosted its reach into Switzerland this year by revealing that it has already signed a number of deals with casino operators.

Offering a wide range of popular online casino games, there’s no doubt that Play’n GO will flourish in Switzerland once the time comes.

Play’n GO’s chief executive, Johan Törnqvist, commented on the expansion and the company’s plans for the future.

“We aim to bring our unique brand of entertainment to as many players as possible; we are always focused on expanding with more exciting content in regulated markets. We will continue to expand through 2021 and beyond.”

“There are still many markets being shaped by regulation; regions like Latin America, the US and even still some parts of Europe are maturing and presenting increased opportunities, and we will always look to capitalise on opportunities.”

Evolution Gaming steps up to the plate

In 2019, Evolution Gaming announced that they were selected by Grand Casino Baden as the new leading provider of live dealer games.

The deal came hot on the heels of Switzerland’s new gambling laws which came into effect on the 1st of July 2019.

Grand Casino Baden focuses heavily on being a ‘House of Entertainment’ which meant they wanted the best to provide live dealer options to their customers.

“This was an easy decision for us,” said Marcel Tobler, Chief Financial Officer at Grand Casino Baden, about the partnership.

“Evolution has an excellent record in helping its licensees to launch world-class Live Casino services into regulated markets globally. At Grand Casino Baden we pride ourselves on providing an unrivalled range of offers and service to our players. Harnessing Evolution’s Live Casino will undoubtedly help us to consolidate and develop our position as one of Europe’s most highly regarded casinos.”

Greentube signs deal with Swiss Casinos

Greentube, part of the Novomatic Group, signed a deal with Swiss Casinos not long after the global lockdown due to Covid-19 began.

While the agreement was still fairly new, it didn’t stop Novomatic from getting their foot in the door with Swiss Casinos in April 2020.

The deal was signed to provide the creator’s most popular games to the casino’s customers as quickly as possible. Switzerland, much like every other country with a regulated casino industry, thrived under the Covid-19 lockdown and having top-quality and safe casino games such as these on offer could only have helped.

NetEnt gets the green light

In April 2020, NetEnt received the global standard ISO 27001 certification which allows them to offer their casino games at regulated Swiss online casinos.

Thanks to this certification, NetEnt, as well as Red Tiger, can provide their games to players at Grand Casino Luzern and Grand Casino Baden in Switzerland.

Granted to companies that are committed to safe and secure gambling practices, this certification is a huge step for NetEnt.

“The ISO 27001 certification is an important acknowledgement for us and is the result of dedicated and hard work from our team. We pride ourselves on being a reliable, trustworthy and secure partner to customers and players,” said Henrik Fagerlund, Managing Director of NetEnt Malta.

“We continue to deliver on our strategy to grow by strengthening our position in regulated markets. We are very pleased to take this step into the Swiss market and look forward to launching our award-winning games with even more operators soon.”

Progress may be slow and steady in the Switzerland iGaming market right now but the future looks to be an exciting one for those capable of meeting the strict requirements.
