    Scientific Games with another big acquisition - now of Elk Studios!

    The acquisition of Elk Studios forms part of a string of important deals for Scientific Games.

    The industry keeps expanding and developing with exciting new announcements made every day.

    Just recently, Scientific Games completed its acquisition of the online gambling development studio, Elk Studios.

    A beneficial acquisition

    SG Digital is a leader in the industry and currently focuses on closing various important deals. The deal with Elk Studios is complete and the European firm is now part of the growing content creation-led ecosystem.

    Other impressive acquisitions by Scientific Studios this year include live casino solutions provider, Authentic Gaming, and slot developer, Lightning Box.

    The addition of the Swedish game developer only strengthens their library of online casino games. With the focus now being on rolling out the Elk Studios content in the North American market while simultaneously strengthening its position in the UK and Europe.

    The deal with Elk Studios remains undisclosed and no details are available regarding what the deal entails.

    Elk Studio is famous for its specialisation in mobile games, which includes popular releases such as Katmandu, Cygnus, and Wild Toro II. The developer is also responsible for the creation of X-iter, a feature that enables you to engage with a range of predetermined game scenarios and modes.

    The range of Elk Studios games has already been launched on the Scientific Games aggregator platform, OpenGaming. In the months to come, they will continue to develop content independently while benefiting from the Scientific Games resources, which include market reach, game IP and data analytics.

    Behind the scenes

    According to Barry Cottle, the president and chief executive at Scientific Games, the acquisition of Elk Studios only demonstrates their commitment to making value-enhancing investments that will advance their cross-platform content capabilities.

    According to Cottle, the Elk Studios team is packed with talent and will only enhance the existing in-house capabilities of Scientific Games.

    And with the combination of their top-ranking games and the OpenGaming ecosystem, there are exciting distribution opportunities that will be available in both the US and Canada.

    The Elk Chief Executive, Filip Säfbeck, states that the acquisitions bear the fruit of years of hard work and dedication from a committed team producing high-quality online gaming experiences. According to Säfbeck, teaming with Scientific Games came at the right time as their ambitions to grow through innovation and into the US and Canada completely align.

    He continues by saying that with this acquisition they have a solid base for providing a wide range of exciting new slots more smoothly to all the online casinos partnered with them across the globe.

    Scientific Games is currently dedicating its efforts to growing its pure gaming business. Hence, the acquisition of various impressive game studios. With names such as Elk Studios, Authentic Gaming, and Lightning Box now part of their team, the possibilities for growth, variety, and expansion continue to increase.

    Just earlier this year Scientific Games announced that they will be selling the lottery business to Brookfield Business Partners and divest the OpenBet sports betting business to Endeavour, the owner of IMG.

    Scientific Games is focused on pure gaming and expanding this gaming entertainment into various popular markets across the globe. 2021 has been a successful year thus far with a number of acquisitions of impressive industry brands.

    Allowing for bigger and better things to develop and release throughout the course of 2022.
