July has been a busy time for the casino industry, with interesting developments coming out of Norway and Germany throughout the last month.

Take a look at the recent developments and news for a better understanding of what the industry holds for the future of gambling.

Will Betsson be leaving Norway in the future?

The Norwegian Gaming Authority has made a large number of changes recently that affect online casinos in many ways. As one of the strictest countries in the world with regards to gambling laws and regulations, Norway expects a lot from operators.

A recent letter from the Norweigan Lotteries Authority (or Lottstift) informed Bettson's BML Group that they were illegally targeting players in Norway. The accusations were followed by the threat of a coercive fine that could be devasting. The restrictive nature of what players can access from inside Norway means that external casinos are popular but Betsson remains compliant, making the accusations particularly damaging.

It remains to be seen what Betsson will do in response to the letter. Read the full article to find out more.

Regulations and changes in Germany

As Germany embraces its new online gambling laws, there are big changes on the cards as they've implemented heavy restrictions. An adjustment to banking methods, a break from unlawful operators, and even a cap on how quickly slots are allowed to spin can all be expected.

Operators wanting to remain in Germany under the new laws will face steep taxes, the chance of lower revenue turnover, and an uncertain future. The changes for operators mean that players are also faced with restrictions that could affect gameplay and entertainment.

Another big change for German players is the inclusion of OASIS, a system that allows players to self exclude from being contacted by online casinos. The new self-exclusion system covers multiple sites and covers every possible situation to ensure that players are safe from gambling harm.

There are also restrictions in place that including minimum betting amounts, monthly deposit limits for all casinos, and a limitation on when gambling ads can be aired. You can find out more about German changes and restrictions here.

Sporting a similar look and feel to the original casino with an updated logo, StarGames is determined to offer German players all of the best online casino games.

Powered by Greentube, the casino will have a full range of Novoline titles on offer. This includes the most popular games such as Book of Ra and Lucky Lady's Charm. Learn more about the relaunch of StarGames in our full news coverage.
