Emily in Paris
Excitement is in the air, with the first part of Emily in Paris releasing on August 15th and the second part releasing in September. In the upcoming months, we’ll get to join Emily on her fabulous Parisian adventures, watch her fall in love, get her heart broken, and find her voice within the industry.
What’s Emily in Paris about? As the name suggests, it tells the tale of Emily (Lily Collins), an ambitious 20-something marketing executive from Chicago with a flair for brand marketing. She lands her dream job in Paris, where she becomes mixed in love triangles and learns to navigate her new demanding job far from home. She starts as a simpleton and then dons a Parisian wardrobe that’ll leave you green with envy.
If you loved Sex and the City, you might want to add this series to your list, as it's created by the same creators.
Sex and the City
Sex and the City is one of those well-loved series that hits all the right spots. It’s a tale of four friends in New York City and their many adventures, from love to heartbreak and career. One thing that keeps this series iconic is the insane fashion choices.
You may find yourself wondering how four ordinary girls from New York manage to have beautiful closets filled with the latest fashion. Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte have their own sense of style, but let’s be honest, it’s Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, who really steals the show with her outlandish outfits that somehow just look amazing every time.
You’ll be particularly fond of Mr. Big when he gives this stylish lady her dream walk-in closet.
Bridgerton
A hot and trending series that has people across the globe captivated is Bridgerton. While it is a historical romance adapted from the book series by Julia Quinn, old-school clothing gets a fresh makeover, leaving viewers breathless and in awe of the costumes, ball gowns, and daily wear.
You may even say it has started inspiring more modern-day women to learn more about historical fashion trends and go back to subtle yet noticeably elegant in their choice of wear.
The story focuses on different characters each season, but the fashion never disappoints. As the series progresses, you’ll grow more fond of the different characters who find their way onto the screen. Someone whose fashion might not always be top tier is the queen with her ridiculously lavish dress wear.
But we’ll tell you a secret: this lady will find her way into your heart and become one of your favourite characters. By the end of the series, you’ll long for a chance to be crowned her diamond of the season.
And Just Like That...
If you love the cast of Sex and the City, you might also want to tune in for the 2021 TV show ‘And Just Like That’. The series runs for two seasons and features your favourites from Sex and the City, including Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), and Kristin Davis (Charlotte).
It continues the popular tale from the original series and follows the iconic friend group as they navigate the reality of life and friendship in their 50s. While these ladies are a good 20 years older, their fashion sense does not disappoint.
There are ample outfits that will encourage our older ladies to keep their love for fashion alive.
Girl Boss
Another interesting series you may want to add to your list of fashionable shows is Girl Boss. It’s an American comedy series created by Kay Cannon and released in 2017. While there is only one season, the show is full of inspiring outfits and a sassy main character who shows that sometimes, a little creativity in fashion can go a long way.
If you enjoy gutsy lead characters, a meaningful plot about character growth, and bold outfits, then you don’t want to miss out on this one. It’s a series that’s loosely based on the Nasty Gal founder Sophie Amoruso’s autobiography.
For retro-inspired fashion, Girlboss is not to be missed.
Gossip Girl
When you’re talking fashion, there’s no way you can leave out Gossip Girl. This series ran from 2007 to 2012, and while there was a remake in 2021, there was nothing quite as satisfying as the original.
The series includes ten regular cast members, with Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) as your main trendsetters. The fashion among the rest of the cast is not to be ignored, but we’re particularly fond of these two.
And if you think fashion is just for the ladies, you’re dead wrong. In Gossip Girl, you get to see the men dress to impress. We’re referring to the main characters, Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick).
They will seriously have you considering trading your slacks for suits.
Devil Wears Prada
For something with added humour, join Andreah Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, in her new adventure as an assistant to Runway magazine editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Andrea is an ordinary girl who dresses for comfort over fashion.
You might even say she’s slightly outdated and fashion blind when the show starts. But as she navigates the challenges of being a fashion magazine employee, she slowly but surely gets a fashion makeover that might even give you that little push to upgrade your own closet.
And let’s be honest: anything with Meryl Streep is worth watching.
P.S. A highly-anticipated sequel is in the works, and we can't wait to see how our favourite characters' lives have turned out!
Fashion in land-based casinos
The one thing about online casino gameplay is having the opportunity to play your favourite games in sweatpants, knowing nobody but the dog will give you a once over. However, in land-based casinos, things operate a little differently.
While it is not a fashion show, there is a certain fashion etiquette you need to consider before heading to your local land-based casinos. We have a dedicated guide to fashion etiquette in land-based casinos for those who want to learn more about elevating their style when hitting the blackjack tables or spinning the roulette wheel.
