    Save the date - Ukrainian Gaming Week in February 2021

    The Ukrainian Gaming Week 2021 starting in February sets the tone for the new market with over 3,000 expected attendees.

    Gambling is an activity enjoyed for entertainment in online and offline formats by people all over the world. Regulatory bodies and laws have not always been so friendly or open towards this activity despite the popularity.

    In many regions, it's been banned for years, with regulatory changes only being implemented recently.

    For Ukraine, 2020 was a big year with the 11-year gambling ban being broken and gambling being re-legalised in August.

    On the 11th of August, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed bill 2285-d into law which came into effect on the 13th of August.

    A quick rise in global ranks

    Despite its legalisation only taking place mere months ago, Ukraine is showing an eagerness to grow and develop their new and legal gambling industry.

    One of the biggest indicators being the Ukrainian Gaming Week 2021 event, hosted in the region from the 24th to the 25th of February 2021.

    Apart from excitement, there is plenty of expectation surrounding Ukraine's first massive gambling event and for CasinoWow it's the delight of being a media partner to the event.

    The primary expectations are that the event will set the tone and the rise of Ukraine within the global gambling business. The second is for it to help refill the budget, emptied by quarantine and COVID-19, on its way to stardom.

    What to expect

    Ukrainian Gaming Week is quickly drawing closer with expectations surrounding it growing by the day.

    During the 2-day event, exhibitors present advanced gambling solutions and a range of talks on the subtleties of Ukrainian gambling legislation, advantages and market prospects.

    The exhibition, hosted by the Smile-Expo International Company in Kyiv, will comprise of floor space of over 5,000 square metres. Over 100 participating companies will take part with 3,000 visitors attending the event.

    The range of exhibitors will include everything gambling-related allowing for networking, gaining insight on what's to come, and the latest releases in casino games, technology and more.

    Exhibitors to look forward to:

    IGT - This American company is a leader in the industry providing stationary slot machines, video slots, mobile and social games, lottery and betting terminals to companies. They also supply software for online casinos, lotteries and betting companies.

    Alfastreet - Another company supplying different models of automated roulette, electronic games, slot machines, casino equipment and gambling terminals.

    Gamebridge - Manufactures and supplies game equipment for poker clubs and casinos.

    Win Systems - Provides a comprehensive range of solutions within the gambling industry. This includes slot machines, electronic roulette, lottery solutions, casino managements tools and innovative industrial systems.

    The event forecast

    Throughout the exhibition, there will be a conference during which international gambling experts, Ukrainian lawmakers and specialised organisation representatives discuss various aspects of the industry.

    Lecture sessions will include reports on functional case studies, the introduction of new products and giveaways from sponsors and exhibitors.

    The UGW selects the best companies within the sector on the first day of the event. A highlight of the event includes the UGW Awards Ceremony taking place during the party.

    With such a massive event in place and large numbers of visitors expected to attend, various safety measures have been put in place, to help curb the spread of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic
    This includes body temperature screening, quarantine merch such as masks and sanitiser, and safe meals provided in individual dishes.
