    BTG hopes for Megaways success with new Megaclusters format

    Big Time Gaming released its new Star Clusters game on the 24th of June. Chief executive officer Nik Robinson hopes its new Megaclusters will mimic the success of Megaways.

    Online gambling is one of the top forms of casino entertainment for many across the globe. With the industry at its peak, software providers are constantly driven towards creating new and innovative games that set them apart.

    Big Time Gaming's latest release is another industry first created to entertain and engage players even more.

    Another first for BTG

    Big Time Gaming is one of the top software developers in the iGaming industry. Always looking for new ways to bring excitement to their online casino players.

    They completely changed the slots sector when they introduced the Megaways mechanic about five years ago. Megaways has been used in big hit games such as Bonanza. Third-party developers have also acquired licenses to add the game mechanic to their own games.

    Now with the release of the new clusters format, Megaclusters the BTG CEO, Nik Robinson, is hoping the company will see similar levels of success.

    The idea for Megaclusters came from the game Chain Reactors. A game where clusters matched adjacently, exploded, cascaded in and created more and more reactions. After the release of this game, BTG has noticed many developers create other amazing cluster games. Indicating just how popular and familiar this gaming genre is.

    The BTG team put their heads together to find a way to put a twist on an already familiar genre. The team decided to present Megaclusters as a stablemate of Megaways.

    Thus, it comes with the mega-prefix and familiar gold typeface. It also has several similarities seen in the new Star Clusters game in which Megaclusters makes its debut.

    Introducing Star Clusters

    The Star Clusters game is the first to incorporate the new Megaclusters format. According to Robinson, they wanted to use a simple theme when introducing the format. The reasoning being that Megaclusters is mathematically complicated.

    Star Clusters is played on a four by four grid appealing to both cluster and slot players. When you get a cluster, the bigger symbols will disappear and it rolls in like a slot machine. And according to Robinson when the bigger symbols fall off the grid it drops in like a cascading game ensuring that genuine hybrid feel.

    It is played from 0.20 per spin and has an RTP of 96.54%. Apart from the thrill of Megaclusters the BTG slot also comes with free spins, wilds and multipliers. The Star Clusters game can award a massive payout of 23,000 times your stake.

    The cluster mechanic starts when a symbol appears on the screen and combines with the symbols around it. From there it will split into four smaller symbols. These smaller symbols can be any colour or the same colour.

    The four new symbols can match with the symbols around the edge and if combined with a bigger symbol will explode into four new ones. The cycle can continue until the whole grid is free from bigger symbols with cascading symbols dropping in afterwards.
