    Counter-Strike is a top choice for eSports bettors

    Counter-Strike becomes the top choice among eSports bettors in 2023. Indicators show that 2024 will be another leading year.

    And according to the report, Counter-Strike has a firm hold on the industry. The game has been responsible for 56% of all wagers, showing that it is the clear leader.

    Other eSports in the running:

    • League of Legends – 24%
    • Dota 2 – 14%
    • Valorant – 3%
    • Call of Duty – 2%

    The report shows statistics based on data derived between January and December 2023. Some of the most popular eSports tournaments followed by enthusiasts and bettors are the IEM, the ESL Pro League and the BLAST Premier.

    Favourite teams followed by bettors:

    1. G2 Esports
    2. Team Vitality
    3. FaZe Clan
    4. Team Liquid
    5. Cloud9

    According to the report by Abios, there has been no great change in performance since 2022, with the state of play remaining the same from the top five esports games to the tournaments listed in the top rankings.

    In Latin America, CS:GO is the leader for 2023. The data shows that while League of Legends was a top choice for esports bettors from Latin America, Counter-Strike 2 became the fourth most popular esports betting title, which is a big deal considering it was only released in September 2023.

    One of the reasons that Counter-Strike is such a popular option among esports bettors is that there is always something going on. There are big and small tournaments lined up all throughout the year. This means you never experience a dry season in terms of betting action.

    Two majors are played yearly, with IEM tournaments hosted in iconic esports locations, including Katowice and Cologne. And we must remember the BLAST and ESL Pro League Tournaments.
