    SkillOnNet’s PlayOJO Casino beats Netflix at UK Social Media Awards 2022

    PlayOJO snags a prestigious social media award for their recent Safe Bets campaign, beating popular traditional media outlets.

    PlayOJO Casino has been awarded the “Best Use of Social Media for Entertainment” award at the recent UK Social Media Awards.

    While PlayOJO is no stranger to claiming awards every year, this one is particularly special.

    Shining on social media

    When it comes to social media, PlayOJO Casino shines. The SkillOnNet casino has a firm grasp on what social media users want to see and what grabs their attention.

    For their recent Safe Bets campaign, the casino beat out traditional media to snag the award over Sky, Now TV, and Netflix. This is a huge feather in the casino’s cap and will go a long way to let UK players feel comfortable with exploring what PlayOJO has to offer.

    The UK Social Media Awards is judged by a panel of qualified marketing experts who look at what is being shared and liked on social platforms. The judging process includes pre-scoring to determine a shortlist of possible winners and the evaluation of the final entries.

    PlayOJO beat the competition with their social campaign that was a fun parody of “cringey safer sex education videos”.

    Peter Bennett, CMO at PlayOJO, commented on the win, saying:

    “In a continuing theme, this year’s campaign was also focused on responsible and safer gaming, something we, as one of the UK’s top online casino and bingo operators, are striving to lead the pack on. Player safety is at the forefront of everything we do as a business and is an important part of our advertising and social media strategy.”

    Safer gambling with Love Island’s Olivia Bowen

    The Safe Bets campaign features Olivia Bowen, a well-known face from Love Island.

    In the ad, Bowen sports a lab coat and gives advice on how to “tame your sessions and enjoy safe bets”. Anyone who’s lived through the embarrassing safe sex videos from the 70s and 80s will instantly recognise what the casino was trying to achieve.

    And it worked! The campaign focused on deposit limits and the Take a Break feature. Players could also put their new knowledge to the test by answering a quiz. The winners received prizes such as hilarious (and informative) packs of condoms.

    PlayOJO took the risqué approach, and it paid off in the end. Bennet ended his speech, saying:

    “I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank not just the amazing team and agency Cubaka, but also the judges for recognising what we set out to achieve with our Safe Bets campaign.”
