Stefan Tsachev is Regional Manager Western Europe at Yggdrasil. He's a self-confessed fan of classic slot games, the style Turbo Gold Deluxe GigaBlox™ is built around. Here's what he told us.

CW: Why launching the game as a Deluxe and what does that mean for this game? What's in it that a standard release wouldn't have?

We named it Turbo Gold Deluxe because it offers much more than a classic theme with a bold, modern look. The game combines high volatility, a modern look, and our iconic GigaBlox™ mechanic, which creates huge symbols and exciting win potential.

For us, “Deluxe” describes the complete package: GigaBlox™, a classic theme with a modern twist, exciting Epic Wins and a turbo feel. It’s this combination that gives the game its premium identity.

CW: High volatility means a lot of spins where nothing much happens. What did you build in to keep players entertained through those moments?

I feel this was considered during development. The base game doesn’t really feel highly volatile, but the math behind it needs to be at that level since the game has a 10,000x multiplier. Players who look for this type of game also expect this volatility.

The GigaBlox™ mechanic is also what keeps players entertained. The base game guarantees that a big symbol will land on every spin, but players won’t know how big it will be, as can be as large as 4x4. This adds a sense of mystery and anticipation to every spin, giving players something to look forward to beyond the outcome itself.

CW: GigaBlox™ has been running for years across many titles. Does it still sell a game on its own, or do players expect it by now? And what is it about the giant blocks that they like so much?

Does GigaBlox™ help selling games? I’d like to think so, but we can’t simply rely on one mechanic. Otherwise, it just becomes another GigaBlox™ game with no other identity, and we want to keep the excitement going with each release!

Along with the mechanic, the game includes features like Free Spins, Multiplier Wilds of up to x3, and the upgrade symbol. So, yes, giant blocks help to increase excitement and potential, but Turbo Gold Deluxe is more than that. It’s a complete experience.

CW: Retro theme with high volatility. Do classic games like this still pull players in, or is it all in the GigaBlox™ feature?

I believe classic games are here to stay. In fact, one could argue that they are coming back stronger than ever. A lot of players look for something simple to play that also offers the potential to hit a really big multiplier.

What makes Turbo Gold Deluxe attractive is the combination of familiar style and modern features to offer a complete experience for new and experienced players.

CW: What's the one thing you love about this new GigaBlox™ title?

I personally have a soft spot for classic games, so I might be biased. For me, it’s the combination between classic, giant blocks and a modern twist that makes this game appealing to a wide audience.

CW: What aspects of the game do you think will appeal most to players across Europe?

I don’t think one would necessarily need to focus on individual aspects of the game, but rather on the effect of the full experience it brings to the table.

There is quite a wide demographic of players across Europe with diverse preferences. Turbo Gold Deluxe will pique the interest of many and will definitely leave an impression, without taking itself too seriously.
